The SC Public Service Authority, also known as Santee Cooper, provides electrical service to Berkeley, Georgetown and Horry Counties as well as produces electricity for the state's other electric co-ops.

Duke Energy provides electric service to an area that includes large portions of Spartanburg, York, Lancaster, Greenville, Anderson, and Greenwood counties and smaller portions of Cherokee, Pickens, Laurens, Abbeville and Union counties. Duke Energy operates an Opensky radio system in SC, NC and other service areas that cannot be monitored by scanners at this time.

Progress Energy, now called Duke Progress, is an electric utility with a service area that includes parts of Williamsburg, Darlington, Chesterfield and Marlboro counties in SC as well as part of Central NC.

Provides electrical power to portions of five upstate counties: Anderson, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens, and Spartanburg.

Serivce area covers Cherokee Co, SC as well as parts of adjacent counties in SC and NC.

Provides services to areas in Lexington, Richland, Saluda, Newberry, and Aiken Counties.

Provides electric service to portions of York County and surrounding areas.

Electric Contractor operating in various parts of the state.

Provides telephone, internet, and cable TV to areas in rural Lexington and Aiken Counties.

FTC provides local telephone and other telecommunication services to areas of the Midlands and Pee Dee regions of SC in the counties of Clarendon, Manning, Sumter and Florence.
