Fire Group alert is broadcast over TGID 1808 which acts like a priority channel in all of the OFD vehicle and portable radios and is used by the dispatch center to alert ALL OFD personel to exit a building or emergency scene as ordered by the chief in charge of a scene. It also informs apparatus drivers to sound thier airhorns to warn all agency personel to exit a scene and report to chief or company officer in charge to conduct a scene or agency head count to account for all personel. The OFD communications dispatcher test pages this talkgroup every evening around 7:40 pm.
