The Department of Disaster and Emergency Services operates with the Montana Department of Military Affairs and is the lead agency in coordinating comprehensive emergency management in Montana DES operates conventional channels located at the states trunked sites that allow for patching to conventional analog, digital and trunked talkgroups and other mutual aid operations in the state.

State Emergency Capability Using Radio Effectively (SECURE)
Tests of the SECURE Network are conducted every Tuesday, at 0900 Hours MDT. Additionally, all radios have complete access to the FEMA and SHARES HF Network frequencies.
