The Alabama Forestry Commission operates a statewide analog VHF radio system that its personnel use for routine communications, fire prevention, and suppression operations. The system consists of one or two repeaters located in each county, which are linked back to Montgomery Central Dispatch via control stations located on Alabama Public Television towers.
AFC divides the state into four regions: Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and Southwest.
Most all regions have two or more communications zones with counties that share the same frequencies and repeater output DPL.
Each repeater has a different input DPL.
