MDICE uses the same P25 digital technology as StarCom21 but is it’s own un-connected system. MDICE units have the various StarCom21 Mutual Aid talkgroups in them. The talkgroups assigned to MDICE are coordinated with those of StarCom21 to avoid duplication. MDICE can be patched to StarCom21 during large events or emergencies when necessary.
