The Moab Interagency Fire Center represents the four wildland fire agencies in Southeastern Utah, providing resource coordination between the U.S. Forest Service, Manti-La Sal National Forest; Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands; Bureau of Land Management, Green River District, Price Field Office and Canyon Country District, Moab and Monticello Field Offices; and National Park Service Southeast Utah Group, Arches and Canyonlands National Parks and Natural Bridges and Hovenweep National Monuments. This center's area involves nearly 10 million acres of terrain that ranges from grasslands at 4000 feet to forested lands above 10,000 feet in elevation. Land status throughout the area is highly fragmented. It responds to an average of 400 incidents per year, with a fire season that extends from March through October.
