The Kingdom of Sweden, has made the switchover to the new Rakel Radio System. This new digital radio network uses TETRAPOL data and voice technology, and is used by all ambulance, fire, police, and rescue services throughout the country. Currently, there are no commercial radio receivers available that can decode this encrypted format that operations in 380-400 MHz band. The old radio system will remain in use as a backup system, but will eventually be dismantled within the next 2-5 years.
